The Italian Commissioner’s Office for Expo 2020 Dubai, in partnership with Fondazione CRUI, offered all university students (between 21 and 28 years of age) the opportunity to participate in the selection procedure for Italy’s Expo 2020 Volunteers Programme.
The Programme is principally aimed at creating a community of student-volunteers to be deployed to greet and guide the visitors to the Italy Pavilion at Expo 2020 Dubai, scheduled to take place from 1st October 2021 to 31st March 2022.
Throughout the entire 6-month Expo, the Italian Commissioner’s Office will engage qualified students wishing to dedicate their time and part of their training course to organizing and managing Italy’s participation in the largest global event ever hosted between the Middle East, Africa and South Asia.
As members of the team of student-volunteers at the Italy Pavilion, all participants shall have the possibility to expand their knowledge and experience by participating in an international, multicultural and multilingual event: a training and growth process capable of fostering a network of real relationships based on shared values, and of developing new areas of interest through a unique experience.
The Call for Participants (here) remained open from 15 March to 1 April 2021. Following an initial call with replies received from over 8000 students, final applications were submitted by over 1500 students.
With 776 eligible applications received, the Commissioner’s Office and Fondazione CRUI drafted a list of the Programme’s 60 selected applicants for the internship periods: 39 female students and 21 male students, representing 52 universities, 16 regions and 51 provinces in Italy.
