Sixty-two young professionals – twenty women and forty-two men – are the finalists for ‘Urban Renaissance’, the International call addressed to architects and engineers under 40 years of age by Fondazione Inarcassa in cooperation with the Italian Commissioner’s Office for Expo 2020 Dubai. Fifteen finalists will be selected and able to attend a three-day workshop due to run from 4 to 6 November at the Italy Pavilion during the Urban & Rural Development Week.
The finalists are equally distributed between architects and engineers: 17 of them are under 30 years of age. They mostly come from Regions in the Center and North of Italy: Lombardy (23%), Tuscany (12%), Emilia Romagna (11%), and Piedmont (10%). Bologna is the city with the most applicants (10%).
Through this initiative, the Commissioner’s Office and Fondazione Inarcassa intend to offer young Italian professionals an opportunity to work alongside their counterparts operating in Dubai, under the guidance of internationally renowned architects and engineers. While participating in the Workshop, the 15 selected professionals will focus on the renovation project of Dubai’s Downtown Boulevard, one of the UAE capital’s top attractions.
