“Urban Renaissance”. The international call for Italian architects and engineers under the age of 40, promoted by Fondazione Inarcassa, in collaboration with the Italian Commissioner’s Office for Expo 2020 Dubai, has been launched. The initiative will take place from 4 to 6 November and will allow the selected young professionals to be involved in a workshop at the Italy Pavilion during the Urban & Rural Development week.
The selection of Inarcassa members has now begun and will end on 15 June, or once a total of 250 applicants is reached. The young professionals will be led by, among others, Prof. Arch. Guendalina Salimei and Prof. Arch. Paolo Desideri. The kick-off event in Dubai, on 4 November, will also feature Prof. Carlo Ratti, co-designer of the Italy Pavilion together with Italo Rota.
Through this initiative, the Commissioner’s Office and Fondazione Inarcassa aim to offer young Italian professionals the chance to work alongside their counterparts operating in Dubai, under the guidance of internationally renowned architects and engineers.
“Beauty connects People, the theme chosen for the Italy Pavilion at Expo 2020 Dubai, is also based on promoting the points of excellence of Italy and of its human capital,” said Franco Fietta, president of Fondazione Inarcassa. He went on: “And Italian architects and engineers, whose skills are recognized and appreciated throughout the world, are an undoubted example of this. In this period, it is more than ever necessary to put at the centre the value of the role played by professionals and we are certain that the Expo can offer the opportunity to relaunch one of our Country’s strategic production sectors.”
