“Expo 2020 Dubai will be a great showcase from which to relaunch our Made in Italy products” and SACE will put its expertise at the service of Italy’s participating companies. This is the explanation given by Maurizio d’Andria, Head of the Dubai Office – Middle East & North Africa of SACE in an interview with the Quotidiano Nazionale daily newspaper.
The Italian Export Credit Agency specialised in providing support to enterprises and their competitiveness worldwide, with a head office opened in Dubai in 2016, has been cooperating with the Italian Commissioner’s Office for the upcoming Universal Expo since 2018.
D’Andria spoke of the great opportunities that the Italy Pavilion will be able to offer, especially to SMEs: “A futuristic Pavilion is being finished off to showcase all the creativity and innovation characteristic of Italian genius. And we, in SACE, will make our contribution through our expertise in the field of credit insurance and financial solutions to support our businesses, for which Expo Dubai represents an important opportunity. Our initiatives include putting our companies, especially SMEs, in contact with important buyers that would otherwise be beyond their reach.”
Expo 2020 Dubai will be the first major post-Covid event and d’Andria highlighted its importance: “The pre-pandemic estimate of 25 million visitors ‘in attendance’ is confirmed, but it is due to increase through a strong participation online. In this sense, the Expo has changed configuration from its pre-Covid setup.”
