Virtual exhibitions, in-depth talks and shows. There is a plethora of initiatives made available by the partners of the Italian Commissioner’s Office for the Expo 2020 Dubai all of which aim to share the beauty and uniqueness of Italy’s cultural heritage online.
The Piccolo theatre of Milan is broadcasting the best shows in its history on the website piccoloteatro.tv. A gesture that will allow those at home to enjoy the excitement of theatre until it can be experienced live at Expo Dubai as well with ‘Matteo Ricci and Xu Guangqi’, one of the major products of the fruitful collaboration between Milan’s Piccolo Teatro and the Shanghai Theatre Academy, as well as a story symbolising knowledge and respect between people and cultures.
The Milan Triennale, with whom the Commissioner’s Office will be promoting at Dubai the excellence of Italian design thanks to the memorandum of understanding with this prestigious cultural institute, proposes: "Decameron: streamed stories". Using Decameron by Giovanni Boccaccio as a starting point, the Triennale has invited artists, designers, architects, intellectuals, musicians, singers, writers, film directors and journalists to create their own personal narrative every day at 5 p.m. on Instagram.
After the successful year of Matera European Capital of Culture 2019, the Matera Basilicata 2019 Foundation is relaunching on social-media channels appointments with culture on the net and putting at the disposal of users some workshops created with citizens last year on the page called Open Design School, a pillar project serving to create the cultural programme.
On the new page "Culture doesn’t shut down" MIBACT brings together under six different sections (Museums, Books, Cinema, Music, Education and Theatre) the various virtual initiatives organised by sites of national culture and the world of Entertainment, Music and Audiovisuals.
