The anticipation mounts towards Expo Dubai, which promises to be the great global event of 2020. This is confirmed by the numerous requests and manifestations of interest by Italian companies towards the last call for sponsorships of the Italy Pavilion, which have continued to arrive even after the expiry of the 7th February deadline. The Expo is a unique occasion to create new opportunities in different markets, especially now that the world is coming to grips with the coronavirus and its impact on the economy.
During an interview by the ANSA press agency, Professor Lucio Lamberti, Associate Professor of Marketing at the School of Management of the Polytechnic University of Milan and author of a study on the potential economic impacts of Italy’s participation in Dubai, plotted a few possible scenarios also in the light of the developments linked to the global virus: Expo 2020 could be a driving force for Italy’s economy with positive effects on exports, internationalisation of businesses towards new markets and tourism spin-offs.
